Panic over: Oxford Circus Tube station reopened after London Fire Brigade declare fire alert a false alarm
Oxford Circus Tube station is being reopened, having been evacuated because this afternoon over a fire alert.
Transport for London shut the station, which connects Victoria, Central and Bakerloo Lines, and prevented trains from stopping there for nearly 45 minutes after an alarm was triggered at around 2:15pm.

Police and crews from London Fire Brigade attended the incident. A LFB spokesman told City A.M. that two fire engines from Soho had been dispatched.
But after carrying out a check of the station, the team concluded it was a false alarm.
However the brief incident caused something of a commuter kerfuffle as passengers spilled out onto the busy junction around the Tube entrance.
