New homes hoping to entice families to live in leafy London
Regeneration project Edgware Green nestled in among four parks, golf, cricket clubs, and tree-lined boulevards
IF YOU’RE looking for somewhere leafy to put down roots, you may find a new suburban development in north west London hits the spot.
Edgware Green, in Green Lane, on the border of Edgware and Stanmore, is a new-build regeneration development sprouting up on the site of a demolished estate.
Barratt London recently launched the second phase of the project comprising 73 one, two, and three bedroom apartments as well as three and four bedroom houses.
The contemporary homes feature fully-fitted kitchens and tiled bathrooms.
Most of the new properties come with on-trend terraces or private balconies and some of the houses include rear gardens and a study room ideal for home-workers.
Once all phases are completed in 2017, there will be 937 new homes on the edge of the Metropolitan green belt.
Gary Patrick, regional sales director at Barratt London, says: “Edgware Green is one of our latest developments built in response to the demand for well-designed homes in affordable, safe communities among local amenities and within 30 minutes of central London.
“Edgware Green provides best value, space and quality design, surrounded by greenery, and within walking distance of the affluent neighbourhoods of Canons Park and Mill Hill, as well as popular retail and leisure destinations.”
Developers hope to integrate the area within an already prosperous neighbourhood by linking it via paths, green open spaces, and a tree-lined boulevard with water features.
Retail therapy isn’t too far away as Brent Cross and The Broadwalk shopping centres are a 12 minute drive and a 15 minute walk respectively and Stanmore High Street is home to a number of cafés, bars, and restaurants.
And central London commuters only face a 30 minute journey by on the Northern or Jubilee Line.
Golf enthusiasts will find Stanmore and Edgware Golf Centre, Stanmore Golf Club, and Mill Hill Club all within 2.5 miles.
The area boasts an abundance of tennis and cricket clubs, and four parks on the doorstep.
There are also two primary schools, a secondary school, and two colleges nearby.
