Lord Triesman hired as director of merchant bank Salamanca
MERCHANT bank Salamanca Group yesterday said it has hired Lord Triesman as a director, effective immediately.
David Triesman, who was formerly chairman of the Football Association, will be responsible for managing client relationships and developing business opportunities in his new role, with a particular focus on Africa and Europe.
He is currently shadow spokesperson for foreign and commonwealth affairs in the UK Parliament and a non-executive director of Cuba’s Havin Bank. He is soon to be appointed a member of the advisory board of Globalinks Capital, a venture that manages and promotes large-scale infrastructure, energy and natural resources projects.
“We are delighted to welcome Lord Triesman to Salamanca Group,” said Salamanca’s chief executive Martin Bellamy.
“His wealth of experience gained from a long career in international relations and politics will be invaluable at both the strategic and practical level as we continue to grow the group.”
