London’s Westfield shopping malls see annual sales of £1.9bn
THE TWO London Westfield shopping centres have seen “solid performances” for the year, their Australian owner said yesterday.
Sales at Westfield London by Shepherd’s Bush and Stratford City were up 1.9 per cent and 7.3 per cent respectively in the 12 months to September, compared to the previous year, global shopping centre giant Westfield Group said.
Combined the two shopping centres generated annual sales of over £1.9bn – up 4.5 per cent on the previous year.
The group confirmed it was on track to meet global forecasts, with an expected rise in net operating income of between four and five per cent in the UK.
Stratford City has been open two years, and Westfield London for five years, with both centres now over 99 per cent leased, Westfield Group said in its trading update.
“The solid performances of Westfield London and Stratford City continues,” the group said.
