    WORLD snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan continues the defence of his title against English compatriot Shaun Murphy in today’s best of 25 frames quarter-final. Murphy beat Marco Fu 13-8 last night at the Crucible. World No1 Neil Robertson, Welshman Dominic Dale and England’s Judd Trump also booked their places in the last-eight with wins yesterday.

    RUGBY LEAGUE: Former Ireland forward Ryan Tandy was yesterday found dead following a suspected drug overdose. The 32-year-old was given a life-ban from the Australian National Rugby League in 2010 after being convicted of match fixing.
