Keep the royal flag flying high
The City of London Corporation is giving away 250 Union Jack flags to wave from office windows as the Queen visits the City next Tuesday as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Businesses interested in getting hold of the 1.5 by one metre polyester flags need to email TC-PublicRelationsAdmin@cityoflondon.
gov.uk, specifying their address. “We’re asking them to display the flags in a safe, secure place – ideally somewhere visible on street level,” said a spokesman.
The Queen will be going to a reception at Mansion House on Tuesday after a service at St Paul’s, while other members of the Royal Family go to Guildhall for a separate reception. The day is a bank holiday but some City workers are expected in to watch the pageantry. “We will obviously be flying the flag as well!” said the spokesman.
