JUSTIN KING GOES THE EXTRA MILE FOR SPORT RELIEF
SAINSBURY’S chief Justin King has been busy pounding the pavement in order to raise money for Sport Relief ahead of the Sport Relief Mile this Sunday.
King, whose stores stock much of the Sport Relief charity merchandise, has run 32 miles across the UK in March in the hope of beating last year’s efforts for the charity.
He’s been accompanied on the runs by more than 1,000 colleagues in various locations around the country including Stoke City’s football ground, Horsham cricket club and the Crayford dog track.
King has run with one worker from every Sainsbury’s shop across the country.
Yesterday he said: “I’m incredibly proud of the fund raising efforts of Sainsbury’s colleagues who have yet again pulled out all the stops in support of a great cause.
“Together we hope to raise over £1.8m for Sport Relief, making a real difference both here in the UK and abroad.”
King says that anybody wanting to sign up to the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile can enter at www.sportrelief.com/mile, with the option to run (or walk) one, three or six miles.
Entry costs £6 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family of four.
■ Buying a mansion is obviously hard work, but the good people at estate agent Knight Frank have made it less arduous to browse the global market for castles and lake-adjacent vineyards with its newly updated iPad app.
The application, which is already clocking up 10,000 downloads a month, allows time-poor millionaires to search for properties by proximity to golf courses, ski slopes and water views.
Those with less than half a million in the bank might be advised to steer clear – it’s free to browse, but disconcertingly easy to find oneself speaking with an agent in just a couple of clicks…
