JP Morgan picks BBC’s Flanders as its new chief market strategist
JAMIE Dimon had something of a mixed day when it came to state institutions yesterday. The low point for the JP Morgan boss was probably being asked by a security guard to show some ID as he went into the US Justice Department to talk through a bruising and expensive regulatory settlement.
But across the pond, his firm scored a personnel coup by luring the BBC’s economics editor Stephanie Flanders into the world of investment banking.
Flanders will be joining JP Morgan Asset Management as chief market strategist for the UK and Europe in November.
“I will even (shock) be permitted to have an opinion – my own view. At least, if I can remember how, after 11 years of trying to avoid them,” she enthused about her new job yesterday.
