Horse Racing Betting Tips: Big fan of George’s Du Seuil in hot four-year-old hurdle
WITH Band Of Outlaws and Pentland Hills both lining up in today’s Grade One Doom Bar Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle (2.20pm), this race appears to be a straight match-up between the two.
The bookies are struggling to split this year’s Fred Winter and Triumph Hurdle winners at around 6/4, and if they both reproduce their Cheltenham performances then the judge will have a job to do so too.
Band Of Outlaws, who provided Joseph O’Brien with a first Cheltenham Festival winner, is a very talented horse and warrants the utmost respect.
In fact, you would have thought that if the yard didn’t have the ill-fated Sir Erec, he would have been lining up in the Triumph himself.
The son of Fast Company is rated over 90 on the Flat and he quickened up like a really good horse to put the Fred Winter to bed three weeks ago.
Back in fifth that day was FANFAN DU SEUIL and he may just be able to get a little closer today.
Tom George’s runner was pushed wide throughout at Cheltenham and had to switch lanes a few times in the closing stages.
He ran on well to fight back for fifth and word from the yard is that he’s come out of the race really well.
Obviously Band Of Outlaws has every chance of confirming the form, while Pentland Hills is also a Grade One winner and is likely to build on his Cheltenham run, but the market is constricted by those two and 20/1 on Fanfan Du Seuil looks a great each-way play.
George has landed a Grade One race at each of the last three Grand National meetings, he’s in terrific form at the moment and Fanfan Du Seuil is simply too big a price.
