Hong Kong Racing Tips: Last chance saloon for Here Comes Ted
FOLLOWING horses that have proved unlucky in recent times can be an expensive hobby, but it may be worth giving HERE COMES TED one more chance when he lines-up in Division 2 of the Caine Handicap (3.50pm) over six furlongs.
There is little doubt the New Zealand galloper should have won with Joao Moreira aboard when a slow start and a wide journey cost him the race behind Ping Hai Galaxy last month.
Three weeks ago, Alexis Badel took over the reins, and despite a good draw, it was a similar story again coming from too far back and just missing a place.
This time Moreira climbs back on board again, and will surely not make the same mistake twice.
An inside draw is a positive and blinkers are equipped for the first time since last season.
Having won twice already this season when racing up with the early pace, expect Moreira to have the gelding just behind the leaders from the off and then make his bid for glory down the home straight.
This is a tight and competitive handicap and it may be worth having a saver on the Harry Bentley-ridden Classic Posh, who produced an excellent performance when third to the potentially top-class Killer Bee at Sha Tin.
This former track and trip winner produced a near identical two-furlong closing sectional time as the winner on that occasion and must go close if reproducing that form.
