Here’s looking at you, Kidd…
Jodie named face of the 2014 Investec Derby
ANY LADIES planning to glam it up on Ladies’ Day at the Investec Derby Festival in Epsom Downs on 6 June will have stiff competition from the official face of the event – its organisers have revealed that this year it will be supermodel Jodie Kidd. Not only does she have her “gift from God” legs and famous pout, she’s also got headwear from milliner extraordinaire Philip Treacy to help with her look. Treacy is the festival’s official hat designer and has created three styles, each inspired by one of the areas of the event – The Hill, The Duchess Stand and The Queen’s Stand. Consider the gauntlet thrown.
Kidd is no stranger to the world of sport. The model loves a game of polo and is well known for her passion for fast cars (and mad skillz behind the wheel). “I have been a fan of horses since I was 10 years old and find racing almost hypnotic, I look forward to sporting one of Philip Treacy’s creations and watching these beautiful animals compete in the greatest flat race of them all!” she said.
More importantly though, The Capitalist is also happy to announce that City A.M. is the official newspaper of the event for the third year in a row. It means a special Race Day edition of your favourite morning read will be widely available at the Investec Derby Festival on the second day, Saturday 7 June. We’ll see you there…
