HELL ON HIGH WATER
Everyone’s favourite daredevil chief executive, Helical Bar boss Mike Slade, has been up to his old tricks again over the Christmas period in his ICAP Leopard super-maxi racing yacht.
Slade, who’s broken a whole haul of records with the yacht since launching it on the race circuit, was unable to take line honours in the gruelling Rolex Sydney-Hobart race, finishing third after a painful two days, 16 hours and 45 minutes on the choppy seas.
Not that it’s got his spirits down, mind. “All that remains now is for us to paint the town red and beat the locals at a spot of cricket before the flight home,” he quips, in characteristically jovial style.
