Happy Jordan stuns Sri Lanka
ENGLAND captain Alastair Cook believes the enthusiasm displayed by all-rounder Chris Jordan has been the key to his match-winning displays in the one-day international series with Sri Lanka.
Following his man of the match performance in Thursday’s victory at the Oval, Jordan was England’s star turn once more yesterday. His figures of 5-28 were the best by an England player in a one-day match at Old Trafford, as the tourists were skittled out for just 67.
Cook (30) smashed England to their target alongside Ian Bell (41) and said: “I love his [Jordan] appetite for it. He won’t always get five-for but you know as a captain that when he runs in to bowl he is giving his all for England.”
England will keep an unchanged 14-man squad for the duration of the series which they lead 2-1 and continues on Saturday at Lord’s.
