Wimbledon 2015: Muguruza reaches first grand slam final with semi-final win over Radwanska
Spain's Garbine Muguruza admits she banned her parents from watching her reach a first grand slam final with victory over 13th seed Agnieszka Radwanska at Wimbledon yesterday.
The superstitious 21-year-old told her Barcelona-based family to stay away while she set up a clash with five-time winner Serena Williams by beating Poland’s Radwanska 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 – but may lift the ban for tomorrow’s conclusion.
“They asked me two days ago, ‘We want to come’,” said Muguruza. “I said no. Don’t change anything. I brush my teeth at the same time. I wake up with the same leg. I’m not going to change anything. I’m going to talk to them now, to see if they’re going to come or not.”
