FOOTBALL TRADER BEN CLEMINSON ANALYSES THIS EVENING’S NORTH LONDON DERBY
TOTTENHAM vs ARSENAL
7.45PM SKY SPORTS 1
THERE are always key defining moments in any Premier League title race and Liverpool’s 10th minute injury time penalty has surely put the final nail in the coffin of Arsenal’s challenge. It was a heartbreaking ending for the Gunners and they now need to pick themselves up for tonight’s visit to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are just three points behind fourth-place Man City and Harry Redknapp will know that a victory tonight will put immense pressure on Roberto Mancini’s side. Spurs will feel rested having not played since last week’s second leg against Real Madrid and they will be attempting to do the double over their local rivals for the first time since 1993.
Arsenal are a best-priced 8/5 with Paddy Power while Spurs can be backed at 15/8 with Victor Chandler and the draw is available at 5/2. Spurs have only lost once at home this season, although they have drawn six of their 15. Arsene Wenger’s side have been disappointing at the Emirates recently, but they have the best away record in the league with eight wins, five draws and only two defeats.
The draw is probably the safest option, but I just think Spurs might have too much for a demoralised Arsenal side. They are worth backing at 15/8 and I’ll also have a small bet on the 3-1 scoreline at 25/1 on Betdaq. Spread bettors should look to buy total goals at 3 with Sporting Index as it could be a thriller.
