This space in the heart of Camden Town was transformed from a makeshift factory site office into two contemporary London homes. The project was taken on by Taylor Wimpey Central London, which specialises in small developments in Zones 1 and 2.
“We immediately saw the potential in a site that had been so often overlooked and went about unlocking it through innovative architecture and design,” says managing director Ingrid Skinner. “As London continues to evolve, there is an increasing need for homes to be made to measure; making full use of every space the capital has to offer and meeting the lifestyle needs and design expectations of the London market.”

The developer started by employing architects Stride Treglown – responsible for revamping university campuses in Bristol, Sydney and at Goldsmiths College, University of London – to retain the Grade II-listed facade, while still making the canalside home fit for modern living. Collectively, the two homes are marketed as Regency Mews and they’re locked away in a private gated courtyard. There’s also a separate two bedroom apartment on a single level called The Regency, which has already sold.
But Morgan House, a two bedroom home with a separate studio, is still looking for an owner. Period characters such as exposed brick walls, central stone pillars and large warehouse windows sit alongside modern architectural luxuries like a roof terrace, a sculptural spiral staircase, under-floor heating and a flexible living area that can also be turned into a study for homeworking.
Spread across three floors comprising 1,318sqft of space, the formerly shabby office and driveway has proved a profitable project, as it’s now on the market for £1.555m.
