Ex-F1 champ Brabham dies
THREE-TIME Formula One world champion Sir Jack Brabham has died aged 88 after battling liver disease.
The Australian designed, built and raced his own rear-engined BT 19 car to world championship victory in 1966, after claiming back-to-back crowns in 1959 and 1960.
Brabham, a former Royal Air Force mechanic, was knighted for services to motor sport in 1979.
His son David said: “He lived an incredible life, achieving more than anyone would ever dream of.”
