Ex-boss of the stock exchange to join Vodafone board as non-exec
FORMER London Stock Exchange (LSE) chief executive Dame Clara Furse has been snapped up by Vodafone, and will take a non-executive position on its board.
The firm announced yesterday that Furse, who headed up the LSE for eight years, will also become a member of Vodafone’s audit and risk committee. The appointments begin in September this year.
Since her time at the stock exchange, Furse has served on the board of Legal and General for a four-year period, running up to last year.
Currently, she is a member of the Bank of England’s newly-formed financial policy committee, which monitors risks to financial stability in the economy.
“Dame Clara has a deep understanding of international capital markets, services industries and business transformation. Her skills and experience will be highly complementary to our board, and I’m delighted to welcome her to Vodafone,” said chairman, Gerard Kleisterlee.
