Every London technology and science business mapped in one epic intereactive
An epic new map detailing every single science and technology company in London sheds light on the booming sectors which now count more than 90,000 businesses and over 700,000 employees with a combined turnover of £153bn.
The most in-depth map to date of the capital’s technology businesses reveals Westminster, the City, Camden and Hackney are home to London's fastest growing firms.
London counts 75 “scale-up” businesses – those in science and technology with annual turnover of more than £1m and growth of more than 20 per cent over two consecutive years.
Created by City Hall and software company Trampoline to showcase the capital’s rapidly growing science and tech sector, where companies are, how fast they are growing and where the latest clusters are emerging, the map includes established companies, startups and scale-ups. It also includes data from the last 10 years based on Company House filings.
“London is buzzing with great entrepreneurial and academic minds developing the latest technological and scientific breakthroughs,” said London mayor Boris Johnson.
“When that is combined with the power of our financial institutions, it is hardly surprising that our science and technology sector is going from strength to strength. This map reveals the true strength of this growing sector which will help to power the capital and UK’s economy for decades to come.”
