England cricket bosses confirm 2016 schedule
Ashes celebrations had barely had a chance to subside when cricket bosses yesterday announced details of next summer’s international programme where England will face a twin sub-continental challenge from Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The summer begins with England’s bid to avenge last year’s 1-0 series defeat to Sri Lanka, with the first of three Investec Test matches starting at Headingley on 19 May. The others will take place at Emirates Durham ICG and Lord’s.
Five one-day internationals and a solitary T20 clash follow before attentions turn to Pakistan, who are touring England for the first time since 2010.
Four Test matches will be contested at Lord’s, Emirates Old Trafford, Edgbaston and the Kia Oval, beginning on 14 July, before five ODIs and one T20 showdown conclude the international season.
