Early blow to Kaymer’s No1 quest
GOLF: German star Martin Kaymer’s bid to snatch the world No1 spot got off to a bad start at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters yesterday. Kaymer needs a top two finish to prevent England’s Lee Westwood replacing Tiger Woods at the head of the rankings on Monday but has left himself a mountain to climb by carding a one-over-par 72, six worse than first round leader Pablo Larrazabal.
