Domino’s sales jump as e-commerce continues to grow
Pizza delivery group Domino's has seen its like-for-like sales rise by 10.8 per cent.
System sales rose by 14.8 per cent to £188.5m for the 13 week period to 30 March, according to the company's interim management statement.
The company attributed the rise in part to its most successful meal deal ever offered – the Winter Survival Deal.
E-commerce experienced continued growth, standing at 69 per cent of UK delivered sales. Sales through all online platforms jumped 25 per cent to £103m, with mobile devices making up 34 per cent of the figure.
Domino's also enjoyed growth in like-for-like sales in the German market of 3.2 per cent.
Stephen Hemsley, chairman, commented:
This is a pleasing set of results for the UK and ROI and we continue to implement our stated plans for Germany and Switzerland. The process for finding a new CEO is well advanced and the Board looks forward to updating the market in the near future.
