CollectPlus plots growth plans to rival Post Office
COLLECTPLUS launched a fresh assault on the Post Office today after announcing plans to expand its parcel returns and delivery service to 7,500 stores over the next 12 months.
The company was launched in 2009 and has grown rapidly thanks to the boom in online shopping, click and collect, and consumers demanding more convenient ways to pick up and return deliveries.
CollectPlus is currently in 5,500 convenience stores, newsagents, supermarkets and petrol stations and has partnered with major retailers including Asos, Amazon, Asda and John Lewis.
The group plans to expand by 33 per cent over the year, with a longer term target of achieving 12,000 stores, surpassing the Post Office’s network of 11,780 outlets.
“We are now providing returns solutions for over 260 retail brands, resulting in an ever-growing and wide-ranging customer base,”chief executive Neil Ashworth said.
“We’re extremely proud that as we approach our fifth birthday we are accelerating our network coverage and will be almost two thirds the size of the Post Office this time next year.
The group handles over 250,000 parcels every week and reported £14.3m of revenues during the first six months of 2013.
