CITY VIEWS ARE UK GILTS THE SAFEST INVESTMENT?

Yes, the UK is relatively safe – other governments are in a much worse position. However in terms of return, equities are a better option. For example, I personally favour ISAs which invest in equity funds.

No – there are no really safe sovereigns at the minute. I would prefer to invest in property – maybe on the Florida coast, where prices have fallen by a fifth or more from their peaks a few years ago.

It is not that safe – the Eurozone crisis and the recent election results in Greece and France will affect us. The UK might look safe, but if our banks are affected, it makes the government a riskier bet.
