City P.M. brought you the final result
City A.M. became City P.M. on Friday, bringing readers a special one-off evening edition to carry the final result of the general election.
The evening newspaper followed two morning editions. An early edition carried reports from the first election counts, revealing the Tories were on course to become the largest party in a hung parliament.
A special 4.20 am edition carried news that the surge in Liberal Democrat support had suddenly collapsed, alongside David Cameron’s declaration that Labour had lost the right to govern.
Our first ever evening edition hit the streets at 2.30pm, making it one of the first newspapers to report that the Liberal Democrats and Tories were preparing to enter coalition talks. It also contained analysis, and a round-up of results in London and the South East.
