Hogan Lovells
The law firm has made its first partner hire since the merger of Lovells and Hogan & Hartson, in the form of antitrust, competition and economic regulation specialist Suyong Kim.
Kim is a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. She has recently advised on the OFT’s dairy products and tobacco investigations and in a case involving access pricing in the water sector before the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Aviva
The insurer has appointed Jason Windsor as group strategy director, responsible for leading its strategy and M&A teams.
Windsor joins from Morgan Stanley, where he is currently managing director of the financial institutions group with specific responsibility for UK insurance. He has worked at the bank for the past 15 years in a variety of roles, including corporate finance and capital markets.
Financial Services Skills Council
The council has appointed Liz Field to the position of chief executive, after she stepped up as interim chief in October last year.
Field has played a key role in developing the FSSC’s new strategy, restructuring the organisation and leading it to its successful relicensing by the government.
Prior to this, Field was chief executive of the FSSC’s predecessor organisations before becoming head of organisational development at Gerrard, now part of Barclays Wealth, as part of the turnaround team.
GE Capital
The commercial finance provider has appointed Jon Hughes as regional director of business development for London and the South East.
Hughes will be responsible for growing new asset-backed lending and leasing business in the region. He has been a new business manager at GE Capital since 2003 and previously worked in the UK and the US for NMB-Heller.
Epi-V
The specialist private equity investor has appointed Dominic McCann as an independent technology adviser, providing advice on new investment opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector.
McCann has over 25 years of experience at Schlumberger, the world’s largest oil and gas service provider, where he held a number of senior research, product development and management positions across a broad range of the company’s operations.
Providence Resources
The Aim-listed oil and gas group has appointed John O’Sullivan to its board of directors.
O’Sullivan, a geologist and geophysicist, has served as exploration manager at the firm since 2002.
He has over 20 years of experience in the sector, having previously worked at both Mobil Oil Corporation and Marathon Oil.
