SRL Global
Alex Lowe, the former chief executive of Man Global Strategies (MGS), has joined the asset management technology firm as its new managing director.
Lowe worked at MGS, part of Man Group, for six years – three years of which were at the helm of the company.
SRL was initially established as a joint venture with Man Group in 2007 and was spun out as a single entity last year.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth manager has expanded its private banking team in the UK and Ireland with the appointment of three new senior private bankers.
Jennifer Floor joins as a director from UBS, where she spent four years as a client adviser. Bob Pennells, also a new director, moves over from Coutts, where he spent 15 years with a specific focus on UK clients.
Alex Dean joins as a vice president from Milestone International Tax Consultants.
GE Capital
The specialist finance provider has promoted Stephan Caron to the position of commercial leader and Cyr Paillard to marketing leader in its UK business.
Caron started his career at the firm in 1999 and was most recently responsible for government relations and strategic partnerships for the EMEA region.
Paillard moves over from his previous position as EMEA strategic planning manager, having joined GE in 2003.
Ambrian Capital
The stockbroking group has acquired a physical bio-fuels business from Masefield Group, strengthening its physical commodities trading capability.
The new arm, which will now trade as Ambrian Energy GmbH, will be headed by Bernd Sturmheit, who has over 25 years of experience in the European energy market and joined Masefield in 2005.
He will lead a team of six traders and logistics managers based in Hamburg.
StormHarbour
The global markets and financial advisory firm has hired Thierry Sciard as a managing principal based in London.
Sciard was most recently a managing director and global head of Fortis Investments’ alternatives and solutions division in London.
He was also head of investment management for Europe and the Middle East at Lehman Brothers.
