FTSE Group
The global index provider has appointed Sudir Raju as managing director for its custom index business.
Raju has worked for Dow Jones and Stoxx Indexes since 2004, latterly as leader of the Stoxx custom index business. He has a strong technical background with experience extending across index design, production, reviews and operations, as well as sales and marketing of custom indices.
Moelis & Co
The independent investment bank has hired Meyrick Cox from Rothschild as a managing director in its London office.
Cox was most recently global head of auto and steel at Rothschild.
He also previously worked for Goldman Sachs as co-head of industrials for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Europe Arab Bank
Neil Turnnidge has joined the bank as its new head of treasury, with responsibility for capital markets, money markets, FX and corporate bond trading.
Turnnidge has over 25 years of experience of treasury markets, primarily in the money market and foreign exchange arena. Prior to joining Arab Bank Group, he was treasurer at Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich.
In his spare time he is a keen cricketer and qualified as an ECB coach six years ago.
Barclays Corporate
The bank has hired John Traynor, Giles Herman, Baihas Baghdadi and Jeroen Reyes Stolker to the cash and trade team at its corporate banking arm.
Traynor joins from ABN Amro as head of international cash sales and global client segment; Herman, who was at HSBC, becomes head of financial institutions trade; and Baghdadi and Stolker join from Barclays Spain as head of international trade origination and head of international business development for trade respectively.

The wealth management technology outsourcing group has appointed Cedric Bucher as director of client investment strategy for its private client business.
Bucher most recently worked for Barclays Wealth Asset Management, where he was responsible for developing and rolling out product strategy and enhancements to the firm’s manager-of-manager investment funds.
Akin Gump
The law firm has appointed Suren Gortsunyan as a partner in the international corporate transactions practice.
Gortsunyan, who advised both Russian and Western companies on M&A, capital markets transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings, will be based in Moscow. His clients range across the real estate, retail and consumer, telecoms, oil services, financial services and industrial sectors. He joins from Hogan Lovells, where he was a partner.
