HSBC
HSBC today announces the appointment of Richard Jablonowski as managing director and head of investment counsellors to its private banking division. Based in London, he will report to Daniel Ellis, managing director and head of the investment group at HSBC private bank. Jablonowski joins from Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management where he spent 11 years, most recently as Business Director for the Discretionary Investment business across EMEA.
Hawkpoint
Hawkpoint has appointed Antony Mannion as managing director of its healthcare division. For the last seven years he has been corporate development director of SSL, prior to its £2.5bn takeover in late 2010 by Reckitt Benckiser. Antony’s earlier career included working as a solicitor with Freshfields and then in corporate advisory with Citicorp and subsequently with Standard Chartered Merchant Bank, Asia.
Transactions for which Antony was responsible at SSL included acquisitions such as those of Medcom, a Russian distributor of condoms and medical gloves and Qingdao London Rubber Company, a Chinese medical goods distributor.
Barclays Corporate
Barclays Corporate has appointed Ian Ball to the Northern region Real Estate team to further support Barclays Real Estate’s commitment to the property lending market, demonstrating that they are very much open for business for new and existing clients. Ball joins the team as Relationship Director and will be responsible for larger corporate clients with a turnover in excess of £5m.
A qualified Chartered Surveyor, Ball has held a number of real estate roles having previously worked with JP Morgan and private equity fund Doughty Hanson, and most recently with the Royal Bank of Scotland. His experience includes working for pan-European real estate funds, including UK, Italian, Finnish and Belgium acquisitions..
PwC
PwC has appointed Richard Gane as the new head of its UK automotive group, responsible for leading and co-ordinating PwC’s services to the industry across the country. Gane, a Birmingham-based director, will take up the role with immediate effect.
Gane is a qualified, chartered engineer by background, who has worked in and around the automotive, transportation and related industries for over 35 years.
