Squire Sanders
The legal practice has promoted senior associate Gareth Timms to its global partnership. Timms is a finance litigation specialist, and his promotion took effect on 1 May. He joined the firm in 2005 and has over twelve years of experience working for asset based lenders.
Bridgepoint
The private equity firm has announced the appointment of Christian Streiff to its advisory board. Streiff was previously chief executive of PSA Peugeot Citroen, executive chairman of Airbus and deputy chief executive of Saint Gobain. He is also currently a non-executive director of ThyssenKrupp, Finmeccanica Spa and Credit Agricole.
Deutsche Bank
Maxim Lojevsky has been announced as Deutsche Bank’s new managing director and co-head of capital markets for Russia and the CIS. He joins from UBS and will co-head with fellow managing director Vadim Martynenko. Lojevsky was head of sales, coverage and debt capital markets for Russia and the CIS at UBS, and previously worked for Deutsche Bank as senior originator for Russia between 2007 and 2010. He has also held roles at BNP Paribas and at Bank Austria Creditanstalt.
Nomura Asset Management
Jonathan Bell has been appointed head of emerging market equities at the asset manager. Bell has over ten years’ experience covering emerging markets as a senior portfolio manager and analyst, most recently as a leading member at Pictet Asset Management’s emerging markets group.
Pillsbury
The full-service law firm has announced that James Simpson and Stephen Jurgenson have joined as partners in its finance practice section. They will both work in Pillsbury’s energy and infrastructure projects team. Simpson formerly served as co-head of Dewey & LeBeouf’s project finance and infrastructure team. Jurgenson also arrives from Dewey & LeBeouf, where he opened and led the firm’s Abu Dhabi office.
Stephenson Harwood
Alexandra Pygall has been hired as partner in the law firm’s intellectual property practice She joins from Covington & Burling, where she was senior associate, and also previously spent ten years at Clifford Chance. Pygall has degrees in chemistry and law, and as a result she has a particular interest in intellectual property matters with a scientific element.
Altius Associates
The private equity advisory and funds of funds firm has appointed Reyno Norval to its global infrastructure and real assets team. He joins the company from Green Gas Americas, where he was business development project developer. Norval has also held positions at EDF Energy.
