HIG Europe
The private equity firm has announced that Carl Harring has joined its London office as a managing director. He arrives from HgCapital, where he led a number of small and medium-sized European leveraged buyouts. He previously spent nine years at Apax Partners.
Optos
The medical retinal imaging firm has announced that Louisa Burdett will succeed Christine Soden as chief financial officer. Burdett joins Optos from the Financial Times Group, where she has been chief financial officer since 2008. She previously held the same role at Chep Europe, a division of Brambles, the Australian listed pallet distribution company. Burdett spent six years at GE Healthcare, where she was chief financial officer of its medical diagnostics business.
Rowan Dartington
The private client stockbroker has appointed Ian Entwhistle as relationship and business development manager. Entwhistle worked on investment training for the National Association of Pension Funds, and spent three years as associate director at SLC Asset Management. Prior to this he spent thirteen years at Merrill Lynch Asset Management.

Oliver Newton has been appointed senior adviser in the hedge fund research and advisory firm’s London office. He joins from Tarchon Capital Management, where he was responsible for day-to-day management of the fund of funds portfolio. He has also previously worked in KPMG’s business advisory and services team.
Marex Spectron
The commodities sector financial products broker has announced that Ana Puchi-Donnelly will become head of its sugar market making desk in London. Puchi-Donnelly joins from Credit Agricole, where she was a director and senior agricultural commodities trader. She has also held similar roles at Fortis Bank, ARCIM Associates and JP Morgan.
Helios Towers Africa
The African telecoms firm has announced Philippe Loridon’s appointment as chief executive of its Democratic Republic of the Congo subsidiary. Loridon joins from Equateur Telecom Congo, a subsidiary of the Bahrain-based Bintel Group, where was chief executive. Loridon has twenty years experience in the telecoms industry, including thirteen at Hutchison Whampoa, where he rose to the position of chief executive of Hutchison Sri Lanka.
Jones Lang LaSalle
The financial and professional services firm has appointed Paul Betts to the new role of EMEA head of logistics and industrial. Betts joined the firm from King Sturge as part of the two companies’s 2011 merger.
