Heartwood
Kevin Rait has been appointed as intermediary client director at Heartwood Investment Management, the investment management services group. Rait has 12 years’ experience in working with financial intermediaries, and will help Heartwood to develop its distribution strategy to serve financial advisors. He arrives from Arbuthnot & Co, where he launched its discretionary fund management proposition to financial advisers. Emma Laughlin, formerly an investment associate at Heartwood, has subsequently been promoted to the position of intermediary support manager.
PricewaterhouseCoopers
The professional services firm has expanded its pensions risk and investment consulting capability, with the appointment of Paul Kitson as pensions partner in its London office. Kitson joins from Nomura International, the Japanese bank, where he was managing director in their pensions solutions team. He has advised trustee boards and corporate sponsors on managing their pension risks, and has worked on some of the largest pension de-risking transactions in recent times, such as the British Airways pension plan. PwC has also appointed Deon Dreyer as pensions investment director in its Midlands office.
The IMS Group
The professional services group has appointed Stephen Burke as managing director in the EMEA region. Burke was previously a director at IMS, and was responsible for the integration of its four acquisitions to date.
Barnett Waddingham
Andy Leggett, formerly of Defaqto and Suffolk Life, has joined Barnett Waddingham, the independent actuary, as head of business development for SIPPs. Leggett has 13 years of financial services experience, concentrated in the SIPP industry.
