City Moves Who’s switching jobs
Bowring Marsh
Andrew Chester has been appointed chief executive of the insurance broking firm’s specialist international placement broking division. He succeeds Nick Bacon, who is leaving after 26 years in the company. Chester was previously head of Bowring Marsh’s UK and Ireland divisions. He has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance sector.
Simmons & Simmons
Ross Miller has been appointed as a partner at the law firm. He joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was head of legal and risk management in its distressed products group. Miller is a specialist in secondary market investment and distressed situations.
Michelmores
The law firm has announced the appointment of two senior hires. Chris Willison joins as a partner from Blake Lapthorn. He was also previously a finance law partner at Hammonds, and vice president legal of GMAC Commercial Finance. Alex Wood joins as an associate from Addleshaw Goddard, where he was managing associate.
Panmure Gordon
The investment banking firm has announced two senior appointments. Nicola Marrin joins as a director in its corporate finance team from Seymour Pierce, where she was head of retail. Victoria Boxall joins its corporate broking team as an associate. She was previously a small cap analyst at WH Ireland.
Eversheds
Alex Doughty has been appointed as a partner in the law firm’s banking team. He joins from CMS Cameron McKenna, where he was a banking and finance partner. Doughty has focused predominantly on energy transactions, including in the oil and gas sector.
Telefonica Digital
The digital division of the communications firm has appointed Ingo Schneider as director of m-commerce and joint ventures. He was most recently vice president of access management at Deutsche Telekom. Schneider has also held senior roles at T-Mobile, where he was both vice president of consumer marketing and vice president of group strategy.
Mazars
The accountancy firm has announced five internal partner promotions. The new partners include Gareth Jones, Sam Porritt, Sam Patel, Omar Ripon and Carl Ward. Additionally, Vincent McCullagh joins as a partner from Deloitte Ireland, where he was a director.
