DAC Beachcroft
Anthony Menzies has been appointed as a partner in the law firm’s London-based global insurance team. He joins from Taylor Wessing, where he was a partner in its insurance and reinsurance group. Menzies is a specialist in marine, energy and engineering law, and has also previously held roles at Clyde & Co and Appleby in the Cayman Islands.
PwC
Paula Smith has been appointed UK asset management leader at the professional services firm. She is transferring from PwC’s Boston office, where she served as its US alternative investments assurance leader. Smith has 23 years’ experience in auditing and accounting.
RBS
Pippa Crawford has been appointed head of the bank’s western European loan markets origination team, within its London-based markets and international banking division. She has been a member of RBS’s loans market management team since 2011, and was previously an executive director. Crawford started her career with the Greenwich NatWest loan syndications team in 1998.
JO Hambro Capital Management
The investment management firm has appointed Rachel Reutter to its UK opportunities team. She previously worked for Goldman Sachs in its global investment research division, latterly as lead analyst on the UK general retail sector. Reutter has also held analyst roles at Oriel Securities and RBS.
Mizuho International
The London-based securities and investment banking arm of the Mizuho Financial Group has announced the appointment of Raffaele De Vitis as an executive director in its European primary debt markets team. He joins from Credit Agricole corporate and investment bank, where he was responsible for sovereigns, agencies and supranational debt origination. De Vitis has over 13 years’ experience in investment banking and has also held roles at UBS Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions
Barclays has announced two appointments to its corporate wealth advisory team. James Wood and Liam Fearon join as corporate wealth advisers, and will focus on advising entrepreneurs and smaller clients on corporate continuity and succession planning needs. Wood joins from HSBC, where he has worked as a commercial planning adviser since 2008. Fearon joins from RBS, where he has worked since 2007 in its corporate financial planning division.
