Ludgate Investments
The private equity investor has appointed Dr Bernard Bulkin and Ekaterina Sharashidze as non-executive directors. Bulkin joins from Vantage Point Capital Partners. In addition to his extensive investment experience, Bulkin is a professorial fellow at Cambridge University. Sharashidze has over 15 years’ experience in private equity and joins from Samena Capital, where she was a director. She is also a former economic adviser to President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia. Both will serve on the investment committee.

The global risk and insurance services firm has appointed John Kunzler as head of its UK-regulated professions practice for England and Wales. The move comes after the firm promoted William Cooper to head of its England and Wales solicitor’s professional indemnity practice. Kunzler joins from Travelers, where he was senior product manager for professions’ professional indemnity.

The property adviser has strengthened its London residential investment team by appointing Arthur McCalmont as associate director. McCalmont was previously residential investment acquisitions and asset manager at Grainger. McCalmont will be responsible for buying and selling income-producing investment blocks and trading vacant blocks.

The property consultant has appointed Shayan Malik as head of research. The experienced analyst joins from Cushman & Wakefield and brings international real estate experience. He has been charged with driving the research department, focussing on developing investment and commercial occupation research for the 200-year-old firm.
Bluefin Corporate Consulting
The employee benefits consultancy of Capita has appointed Ian Treece to its growing auto-enrolment practice. Treece joins from Barclays, where he was associate director for the bank’s pension scheme.
Barclays
The multinational bank continues its growth drive in the Americas with the appointment of Christopher Van Houten as relationship director within its New York-based financial institutions team. Van Houten joins from National Australia Bank where he was a director.
