Blackwell’s
Independent bookseller Blackwell’s has confirmed the appointment of its head of operations, Kate Stilborn, to the company’s board in the newly created role of customer service & operations director. Kate, who has been with Blackwell’s for 23 years, will oversee its commitment to delivering excellence in customer service across multiple channels, including online, and through the company’s high street and campus bookshops throughout the country.
GLOBAL IMPACT INVESTING NETWORK
The Global Impact Investing Network, a non-profit organisation dedicated to increasing the scale and effectiveness of impact investing, has announced the appointment of Peter Malik to the position of director of membership. Peter joins from The Nature Conservancy, where he served as managing director for corporate engagements and worked to forge agreements with corporate partners. Prior to that, he was director for the Natural Resources Defence Council’s Centre for Market Innovation. Peter had previously served as head of emerging markets structured credit financing for JP Morgan Securities based in London. Peter has held positions with other large institutions, including Credit Suisse Securities.
Dentons
Multinational law firm Dentons continues to build out its corporate practice in the UK with the hire of partner Jonathan Cantor. Jonathan joins from Nabarro, where he has been a partner since 2007. Jonathan specialises in real estate indirect investment and funds. His work spans the corporate real estate sector, including office developments, retail, hotels, infrastructure, logistics and healthcare. Jonathan has advised both UK and international clients, including a number of large institutional and private equity investors, as well as sovereign wealth funds, property companies and fund managers on multi-jurisdictional deals, co-investment structures and associated management arrangements.
National Friendly
National Friendly, the health insurance provider, has announced the appointment of Lucy Pinson as business development manager to develop the society’s relationships with advisers and support its involvement in the intermediary market. The move signals National Friendly’s return to new business, following the recent launch of its Your Health Fund product. Lucy brings a wealth of experience of the intermediary market to National Friendly. Prior to joining, Lucy worked as a broker development manager at April UK and spent much of her career working with healthcare providers, including SimplyHealth. Lucy will be contributing to the society’s strategic and business planning for product development, distribution and marketing.
