Marsh
Insurance broker Marsh has appointed Jeremy Cooke as vice chairman of global placement. In his new role, Jeremy will focus on critical growth areas including complex market negotiations on facilities, quota shares and key accounts. He was previously head of placement for Marsh’s international division. Prior to joining Marsh in 2003, he held senior executive positions at insurers in the US and London. Jeremy is also the former president of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices and recently served as vice chairman of London & International Insurance Brokers Association.
Houlihan Lokey
International investment bank Houlihan Lokey has appointed Zaman Khan and Christian Scharf managing directors of its London-based Illiquid Financial Assets (IFA) practice. Zaman and Christian will jointly spearhead the growth of the business in Europe, focusing primarily on financial institutions, strategic advisory and bespoke deleveraging solutions for holders of non-core illiquid financial assets. They both join the firm from HSBC. Christian has held a number of roles at HSBC, most recently serving as head of debt capital markets for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Zaman was HSBC’s head of special situations, focusing on bank deleveraging and stressed opportunity origination and execution. Prior to HSBC, he was CIO of Abaci Investment Management.
LendInvest
Online specialist mortgage lender LendInvest has recruited Mike Nuttall as the company’s first VP of engineering to scale up the technology side of the business. Mike joins LendInvest with over 15 years’ senior management experience. In his new role, Mike will be responsible for managing the direction, goals and efficiency of the technology team which now represents over 40 per cent of LendInvest’s workforce. Most recently, Mike was VP of technology at Moo.com, the online printing company where he spent almost three years. Previously, Mike was interim VP of engineering at FanDuel, the largest daily fantasy sports company, as well as chief technology officer at both Doctors.Net.UK, the professional doctors' network, and MedicAnimal, the online pet healthcare store.
ABM
Facility solutions provider ABM has appointed Andy Donnell managing director of its UK business and industry group. Andy will oversee facility solutions for commercial office locations, financial, shopping centres and retail locations, as well as public and entertainment venue space for ABM UK. Andy began his career as an apprentice electrician before rising through the ranks in roles covering operations and account management. He joined Westway in January 2007 and led the firm through management buyouts in 2009 and 2014.
