Matthews & Goodman
National commercial property group Matthews & Goodman has appointed three new staff members following its acquisition of niche London firm Sinclair Clark Allegra. Nigel Watson has joined the firm as LLP member, Linton Brander as senior associate property manager, and Sabina Joyeux as property management accountant. Nigel and Sabina have joined Matthews & Goodman’s eight-strong management team in the City office on Ironmonger Lane from, while Linton will continue to be based in Croydon. This is in addition to the firm's 10-strong management team in Manchester and Liverpool.
Lewis Silkin
UK law firm Lewis Silkin has announced the promotion of three new partners. The addition of Shalina Crossley, Sam Pennington and James Storke to the partnership brings the total number of partners at the firm to 59. Shalina joined the firm as a trainee and qualified in 2004, and most recently served as a managing associate in the firm’s employment team. Sam has been promoted to partner from the role of senior associate. Having joined Lewis Silkin in 2006 as a newly qualified associate, he is a member of the firm’s commercial and corporate practice groups, as well as its technology and media & entertainment industry sector focus groups. James was previously a managing associate in the firm’s employment team, and first joined as an associate in 2007. He advises employers on issues such as contracts and policies, redundancy and restructuring, TUPE transfers, disciplinary and grievance proceedings, and whistleblowing. James also regularly defends clients against claims in employment tribunals.
Mizuho International
Mizuho International, the London-based securities and investment banking arm of the Mizuho Financial Group, has appointed Christel Aranda-Hassel as chief European economist. Christel will be responsible for delivering European macroeconomic research and analysis to Mizuho’s global client base including coverage of European economies, policy and markets. With an impressive track record of identifying market moving trends, Christel is an important addition to Mizuho International’s London-based independent research team. Christel brings over 25 years of experience in the City to the role and joins Mizuho International after 18 years at Credit Suisse where she was most recently senior European economist. Prior to Credit Suisse, Christel was senior European economist at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken.
