Dearman, the clean cold technology company, announced the appointment of David Sanders as commercial director. David joins Dearman from the Carbon Trust, where he was direction of innovation, working with customers across the UK, Europe and Japan on strategy and innovation in the energy and resource efficiency space. Dearman is developing a suite of technologies that harness the properties of liquid air to deliver efficient, cost effective and crucially zero-emission cold and power.
Ropes & Gray
Ropes & Gray LLP has announced that Helen Croke, private equity and M&A partner at Travers Smith is joining the firm as a partner in its London office. Helen specialises in UK and international private equity and M&A, including acting for institutional investors, corporates and founders. She is highly ranked by both Chambers UK and Legal 500 and was named in The Lawyer – The Hot 100 in 2011. By joining Ropes & Gray’s London private equity team, she will play a substantial role continuing the growth of the firm’s European private equity offering. Helen’s arrival brings the number of London private equity partners to five and enhances Ropes & Gray’s global private equity practice.
Burlingtons
Law firm Burlingtons Legal LLP has announced the appointment of Brian Eagles as head of media and entertainment. Brian joins from Howard Kennedy, and has over 40 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, specialising in the fields of intellectual property and media. He advises UK and international clients, both corporate and personal, in the fields of theatre, film, television, publishing, music and sports. A veteran of the media industry, Brian is a founder trustee of the Ralph and Meriel Richardson Foundation and the Solti Foundation. He has also represented film and TV personalities, including Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Ralph Richardson, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, Topol and Bruce Forsyth.
Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking
Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking has appointed Ethan Handyside as head of its technology sector banking team based in central London. Ethan has moved from RBS where he was director in its technology, media and telecoms mid-market corporate business. He brings over 11 years’ banking experience and has a mandate to develop the UK technology client base for Bank of Ireland.
