McCann Worldgroup has appointed Samantha Giles as EVP, global business leader on the agency’s global Nestle business. She joins from Ogilvy & Mather where she has been worldwide managing partner. Giles, who will remain based in London, will succeed Julian Ingram who has headed the Nestle business for the past two years, extending the agency’s relationship with Nestle into additional areas. Ingram will be moving into a new role within the company. Giles’ brand leadership experience has spanned packaged goods, fashion, publishing, personal care and healthcare, including on such global businesses as Unilever, Philips Consumer Lifestyle, Kimberly-Clark, Mars, and Levi Strauss.
Lyxor Asset Management
Lyxor Asset Management has appointed Matthieu Mouly as CEO of Lyxor UK. Based in London, Matthieu reports to Lionel Paquin, CEO of Lyxor, and locally to Ian Fisher, Societe Generale group country head for the UK. Matthieu replaces Pierre Gil, who will take on a new role within the Societe Generale group. As CEO of Lyxor UK, Matthieu's primary focus will be to ensure that Lyxor's broad range of expertise are deployed in the most efficient manner across the UK market, as well as to boost Lyxor's commercial development both in the UK and the Nordics region.
Arbuthnot Banking Group
Angela Knight CBE has been appointed to the board of Arbuthnot Latham. Angela is the senior independent non-executive director of Tullett Prebon, a post she has held since 2011 and is currently the senior independent director at Brewin Dolphin. She is chair of the Office of Tax Simplification, an independent body of HM Treasury. She was formerly the chief executive of Energy UK until December 2014, the chief executive of the British Bankers’ Association from 2007 to 2012 and the chief executive of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers (now the Wealth Managers Association) from 1997 until 2006.
Philips Lighting has appointed David Nicholl as its CEO for the UK & Ireland. David succeeds Peter Maskell, who will be retiring at of the end of this year. David joins Philips Lighting this month from Rockwell Automation where he was country director for the United Kingdom & Ireland. David was instrumental in accelerating the adoption of the connected enterprise approach; harnessing the Internet of Things in the industrial and manufacturing space to enable customers to benefit from greater connectivity and information sharing. Prior to Rockwell Automation, David spent 13 years with Schneider Electric where he held senior leadership roles in the UK, Romania and Sweden, driving energy management and the transformation to systems and services.
