The law firm has announced the appointment of Ruth Connorton as a commercial contracts partner. She specialises in non-contentious procurement matters. Connorton joins from Eversheds, where she was head of procurement law.
Ashburton Investments
The investment management firm has appointed Swati Jain to its London-based distribution team. She was most recently at IIFL Wealth, where she was head of institutional sales for the UK and Europe. Prior to that, Jain was associate vice president of sales and distribution at HSBC Asset Management in India.
Waverton
Andrew Vaughan-Payne has joined the investment management firm as US sales director. He was formerly director of US equities at Lazard Capital Markets, where he covered UK and European clients. Prior to that, Vaughan-Payne worked in institutional equity sales at Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley.
JLT Employee Benefits
The employee benefits provider has announced the appointment of John Breedon as head of investment consulting. He joined in 2009 from HSBC, where he was a senior consultant and actuary. Breedon also previously worked at Mercer, where he was a managing consultant and scheme actuary.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
The law firm has named corporate partner Julian Long as London managing partner. He became a partner at the firm in 1995 and was appointed head of London corporate in 2011.
Fitch
Michael Dunning has been appointed analytical head of corporate ratings for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Fitch Ratings. He previously led its EMEA telecom, media and technology team.
Sainsbury’s
The retailer has appointed Jon Rudoe as digital and technology director. He joined in 2011 as director of online from Ocado, where he was responsible for marketing, web experience, product and supply chain. Prior to that, he was a management consultant at Bain and a venture capitalist at Smedvig Capital.
