Orchard Street Investment Management
Orchard Street Investment Management, the specialist commercial property investment manager, has appointed Dawn Marie La Monica head of compliance and risk. She will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and laws impacting the firm, guiding the shape of corporate governance and culture, and advising on the firm’s compliance-related policies. Dawn’s appointment marks the second senior hire by Orchard Street this year. Dana Eisner joined in January in the newly created role of head of investor relations. Dawn joins the company from Cairn Capital, the credit asset management and debt advisory firm, where she worked for several years as the compliance officer. At Cairn Capital, she oversaw the enhancement and revision of the firm’s compliance infrastructure and performed risk assessments and gap analyses of its operations. Dawn worked for several years on Wall Street and is a New York qualified attorney Philip Gadsden, managing partner at Orchard Street, commented: “Dawn brings a real wealth of relevant experience to our company. Her specialist knowledge of new regulation makes her the right person to best position our business as we look ahead.”
Dechert
Dechert has expanded its global funds practice with the addition of London-based partner Thiha Tun. Spanning European fund domiciles and the US, Middle East and Asia, its financial services practice adds Thiha to a 200 lawyer-strong investment funds team. With over two decades of experience as an investment funds lawyer, he advises alternative asset fund sponsors, institutional investors and financial advisers on issues including fund formation and capital raisings, fund investments, secondary transactions, establishment of managed accounts, carried interest schemes and co-investment arrangements. Thiha said: “This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the world’s leading funds practices.”
Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking
Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has appointed James Courtenay-Evans as head of transport within its large corporates division. Courtenay-Evans joins the industry and infrastructure team from TradeRisks, the corporate finance and investment firm where he advised clients in the public and private sectors on raising capital. Prior to this he spent nearly 15 years at RBS, principally in transport and infrastructure coverage and as head of corporate financing solutions. He brings a wealth of experience in transport and banking services to the role. In his new role, Courtenay-Evans will oversee clients with turnover above £100m in the automotive, public transport, airline and transport infrastructure industries.
