Who’s switching jobs?
Bibby Financial Services
Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Paul Lomas as global human resources director to develop and implement the business’s global HR operating model in line with its global growth strategy. Joining BFS from Oxford University Press, where he held the role of Group HR director, Paul has over 30 years’ experience working within businesses of all size, including Lucent Technologies, Abbey Santander and specialist staffing business, Sthree.
Prior to joining Oxford University Press, Paul was HR director at Worldpay, where he was responsible for creating and implementing a HR agenda delivering transformational performance across the organisation following the private equity buy-out from RBS.
Raymond James
Raymond James Corporate Finance announced the appointment of Stuart Sweeney as a managing director in its London office. Sweeney, who comes to Raymond James from Ernst & Young (EY), where he was an associate partner in that firm’s financial services corporate finance practice, will focus on companies delivering tech-enabled financial services. In this role, Sweeney’s practice will complement the highly regarded global technology and services banking team, through which the Raymond James London office was established just over a year ago.
An honours graduate with a degree in modern languages from the University of Bristol, Sweeney has spent the last four years in leadership positions with EY’s financial services practice, based in London. Prior to EY, he spent 10 years with Computershare, in its European corporate development division, based in London.
Plenitude
Plenitude, a niche consultancy, specialising in financial crime risk and compliance, has announced the appointment of Steve Vinnicombe, former UK chief executive of Capco UK, as a non-executive director. Plenitude’s record includes working with six of the 14 global banks subject to the Systematic Anti-Money Laundering Programme (“SAMLP”).
Steve has more than 20 years of experience in the consulting industry. He started his career at Accenture, where he spent 11 years, specialising in financial services, his last role as a senior executive in the Capital Markets unit. Steve joined Capco in 2010 and was instrumental in helping the business achieve 25 per cent compound annual growth between 2010 and 2016, and obtaining a Sunday Times “Best Company to Work For” rating. Between January 2014 and June 2016, Steve served as the chief executive of Capco in both the UK and South Africa.
