Warburg Pincus
Rene Obermann is joining the global private equity firm as managing director and partner. Obermann was chief executive of Deutsche Telekom from 2006 to 2013, and was most recently chief executive of Ziggo NV. He will be based at the firm’s London office.
Hay Group
The management consultancy has appointed Jim Tapper as new managing director for the UK and Ireland. Tapper was formerly a managing partner in the Korn Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting practice, and has over 30 years’ experience. He previously worked at Korn Ferry, the parent company of Capital H Group, Logica, Accenture and Novera Energy Europe.
Mena Capital
The investment firm has announced the appointment of Dr Slim Feriani and Roger Allen and managing partners. Feriani joins as chief executive, with over 20 years’ experience in senior roles. He has held leadership positions at Advance Emerging Capital, Martin Currie and Nomura. Allen joins as head of business development. He has held senior roles at Advance Emerging Capital, Bankers Trust, Merrill Lynch and Dresdner Kleinwort.
Lloyd’s
Mark Cloutier is joining the insurance giant’s franchise board. Cloutier has been the chief executive of the Brit Group since 2011, and has more than 35 years’ experience working in the international insurance and reinsurance sector. He has previously been chief executive of the Alea Group and Overseas Partner Re.
Mayer Brown
The law firm has appointed Alex Dell as senior asset-based lending partner in its banking and finance business. Dell joins from DLA Piper, where he led its Structured Finance Trade and Receivables team.
CMS
Pieter Bekker has joined the law firm’s International Arbitration practice. A member of the New York Bar, Bekker has 23 years’ experience, particularly within the energy sector.
Holman Fenwick Willan
Alexander Reid has joined the law firm’s energy and resources practice in London. A transactional lawyer specialising in the oil and gas sector, he was previously at Baker Botts.
