SJ Berwin
The law firm has appointed Paul Stothard as a partner in its litigation practice. He was most recently at Dentons, where he was a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution group. Prior to that, he was an associate at Denton Wilde Sapte, and Allen & Overy.
Quadrant Estates
James Bidwell has joined the property development and investment company as an associate director. He was previously an asset manager at the Hark Group, and before that a senior surveyor in the retail team at Cushman & Wakefield.
Canada Life Investments
The asset management firm has hired Nigel Kennett as a senior fund manager on its UK equities desk. Kennett has 23 years’ investment experience, and has previously held various roles at Nomura, Gartmore, and Royal & Sun Alliance Investment Management.
Linklaters
David Kidd has been elected as a partner in the law firm’s Hong Kong office, where he will lead its pan-Asian restructuring and insolvency practice. Kidd has been working in Asia since 1998. He was most recently a partner at Allen & Overy.
Cushman & Wakefield
Ed Nicholson has joined the real estate services company as an associate in its West End agency team. He was formerly an associate in Strutt & Parker’s West End business team.
Miton Group
The fund management group has announced the appointment of David Barron as director of investment trusts and produce strategy. Barron has over 18 years’ experience in asset management. He was most recently head of JP Morgan Asset Management’s investment trust business. He has previously held corporate finance roles at Merrill Lynch Europe and Hambros Bank.
Bovill
The financial services firm has recruited Mark Spiers as head of its wealth management team. Spiers joins from Kleinwort Benson, where he was head of compliance in its London office. Prior to that, he held senior compliance positions at UBS, and the private bank Emirates.
