Saffron Tax Partners
The tax partnership has appointed Nicholas Hughes as partner. He qualified as a solicitor in 1984, and was previously a partner at BDO. Hughes is also a former director at the Chiltern Group, and advises private clients in relation to trust and estate planning matters.
Invesco Perpetual
The investment manager has announced two appointments to its UK equities team. Robin West joins as a fund manager in the UK small cap team. He was previously at Aviva Investors, where he was a fund manager for smaller companies and UK growth. Tim Marshall joins as senior investment analyst, and will have responsibility for investment analysis within the large cap UK equities team. He arrives from Redburn, where he was a transport analyst and partner.
USS
The Universities Superannuation Scheme, the defined benefit pension scheme, has appointed Kevin Smith as chief service delivery officer. He has more than 30 years’ experience in pension management, and has held positions at Aon Hewitt, Capita and Scottish Life.
Reed Smith
Angus Finnegan has been named technology partner in the law firm’s media and technology practice in London. He joins from Osborne Clarke, where he was head of its telecoms sector group. Finnegan has more than 20 years’ experience in the technology and telecoms industry.
ACE Group
The multi-line property and casualty insurer has appointed Paul Wilderspin as client relationship manager, UK & Ireland. He joins from Marsh, where he was senior vice-president in the risk management practice. Wilderspin has also held at Axa Corporate Solutions.
Hudson
Peter Istead has been appointed managing director of the talent solutions company’s UK and Ireland operations. He joins from Michael Page, where he spent 19 years working in its recruitment business, latterly as managing director for its finance division in London and the south east.
Phoenix Equity Partners
The private equity firm has promoted David Burns and Richard Daw to managing partner. They have both been with Phoenix for 13 years, and are members of the firm’s management committee.
