Chambers set for Team GB’s Olympics cut
UK Athletics coach Charles van Commenee has revealed former drugs cheat Dwain Chambers is “likely” to make Team GB’s Olympic squad for the 100m sprint.
Chambers in 2003 tested positive for a designer drug but remains eligible for selection after the British Olympics Association’s policy of lifetime bans for drug users was overturned, making his inclusion a genuine possibility.
“It’s a likely outcome,” said Van Commenee. “He won the trials. And the fourth-best athlete in Britain can’t be better than the winner of the trials, so it’s common sense.”
