CBI deputy director general Katja Hall steps down
CBI deputy director general Katja Hall is departing after nearly a decade with the business group.
“Katja has been a fantastic deputy and I have very much enjoyed working with her over the years. She is highly respected across the business community and the political spectrum, and deservedly so," said CBI director general John Cridland.
"As well as leading major CBI campaigns on Europe, infrastructure and representing the CBI with government and business leaders at home and abroad, she has also led our international activity. Katja will be hugely missed by the CBI team. I want to thank Katja for all her efforts on behalf of the business community and wish her every success in her next move.”
Hall became deputy to Cridland in 2014 after roles at the group that included leading policy and lobbying, and director of employment.

“I have been immensely proud to have led the CBI’s lobbying and policy work as deputy director general. I will miss my wonderful colleagues but after nine years with the CBI, this is the right time for me to take the next step in my career," said Hall.
"I will be taking some time off to decide on my next move and I hope to make an announcement in the near future. I want to thank John and the CBI team for all their support over the years and to wish Carolyn Fairbairn all the best when she takes over the reins as director general later this year."
Carolyn Fairbairn will succeed Cridland as the group's director general in November and will search for a replacement for Hall.
