Cameron ready to announce his panel of business advisers today
TWO MORE business figureheads were named as part of David Cameron’s panel of business advisors, Sky News reported yesterday.
Indian businessman Ratan Tata and Sony president and chief executive Sir Howard Stringer are set to join a raft of hand-picked industry heads in the government’s business interest group.
Also in the frame are Centrica chief executive Sam Laidlaw, BAE Systems chairman Dick Olver and WPP advertising magnate Sir Martin Sorrell.
The Prime Minister’s Office is set to name the advisory panel today. It is expected to be a more informal affair than Gordon Brown’s Business Council for Britain panel, which caused controversy before the election when the panel said it was happy to serve under a Conservative leadership. The new group will have some overlap in Diageo’s Paul Walsh and GlaxoSmithKline’s Andrew Witty.
