Business leaders gave their opinions on the Scottish vote yesterday, with HSBC’s Douglas Flint, M&S’ Marc Bolland, Kingfisher’s Ian Cheshire and Michelle Mone of Ultimo calling for a No vote.
George Mathewson, of Toscafund, Brian Souter of Stagecoach and ex-William Hill chief Ralph Topping were all in the Yes camp. Aberdeen Asset Management boss Martin Gilbert has said neither result would be disastrous.
